Storage Edgware Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Edgware in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Storage Edgware provides storage facilities and related services to individuals and organisations. Our supply chain includes providers of site management services, maintenance and repair, utilities, security, cleaning, information technology, equipment, and various professional and consultancy services. We recognise that modern slavery can occur at any point in the supply chain, and we therefore apply appropriate checks and safeguards, proportionate to the level of risk.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Storage Edgware operates a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept or condone any form of forced, compulsory, or bonded labour, child labour, servitude, or any other form of exploitation. This applies to our own operations, our staff, contractors, agency workers, and all suppliers and business partners.
We expect everyone who works with us or on our behalf to share this commitment. Where we identify a risk or an actual breach, we will act promptly, which may include suspension or termination of contracts and collaboration with relevant authorities, as appropriate and lawful.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We aim to work only with suppliers who uphold high ethical standards. Storage Edgware assesses new and existing suppliers on their approach to labour standards and human rights. As part of our due diligence, we consider the nature of the goods or services supplied, the location of operations, and any sector-specific risks related to modern slavery.
Suppliers are required to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. Where appropriate, we seek confirmation that suppliers have their own modern slavery policies or equivalent commitments in place, and that they cascade these expectations throughout their own supply chains.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
To support our zero-tolerance stance, Storage Edgware may carry out supplier audits and reviews, particularly for suppliers operating in higher-risk sectors or geographies. These audits may include site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management and, where appropriate, workers.
Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we will engage with the supplier to agree corrective actions and realistic timeframes for improvement. Failure to implement agreed actions or serious or repeated breaches may result in the ending of the business relationship, subject to contractual and legal obligations.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Edgware encourages a culture of openness where concerns about modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical behaviour can be raised without fear of retaliation. Employees, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery within our operations or supply chains through established internal reporting routes, including line management or senior management.
We will take all reports seriously and handle them sensitively, fairly, and, where possible, confidentially. Any credible concerns will be investigated promptly and, where necessary, escalated to external authorities. Individuals who raise concerns in good faith will be protected from detrimental treatment.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and relevant contractors. Storage Edgware provides guidance on recognising indicators of exploitation, understanding reporting routes, and appreciating the importance of acting on concerns. Management teams are expected to promote these standards within their areas of responsibility.
Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by the leadership of Storage Edgware to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. The review will consider any incidents, audit findings, changes in our operations or supply chains, and evolving risk areas.
We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to identifying, preventing, and addressing modern slavery. As our business and supply chains develop, we will refine our due diligence, auditing, training, and reporting mechanisms to strengthen our safeguards further.
This statement reflects the position of Storage Edgware at the date of publication and has been approved by the company leadership, who take overall responsibility for its implementation.
